Yorkshire Men's Division Four North: Bingley Bees 3 Wakefield Fifths 2

BINGLEY Bees hockey team are off the bottom of the table on goal difference, climbing above their visitors after winning this hard-fought basement battle.

Dan Tilbrook, new to the club this season, was the hero for the hosts, bagging his first hat-trick for them.

Wakefield scored twice by profiting from defensive mix-ups, but this did not mar the home side's best performance of the campaign so far, as could be seen by the smile on skipper Tony Hart's face that even the awful weather could not wipe off!

Yorkshire Women's Division Two: Bingley Bees 0 Acomb 9

THIS scoreline for the Bees matched the dank and dreary weather and, against some very skilful youngsters, they conceded six goals in the first half.

Acomb netted the first goal from the top of the D and didn't look back, although the Bees did take the game up to their attacking 25.

The home side did better in the second half after opting for the flying ducks formation during the interval, thus strengthening the midfield and generally being much more supportive of each other.

A more resilient home defence only conceded three in the second half.
