BRADFORD Hockey Club's men's first team are dreaming of a title-winning season after a superb campaign so far.

As they prepare for the season's run-in, Stuart Harrison's team are challenging at the top of the Yorkshire Premier Division in a four-way battle for glory with Huddersfield Dragons, Leeds 3rds and Sheffield Hallam 3rds.

If Bradford were to be top after their game against Ben Rhydding 2nds on March 12, they would be promoted to the North East Premier Division and face teams from across the region.

Club president Paul Bateson, who captains the Yorkshire over-60s team, expressed his delight at the team's success.

"They're doing really well," said 60-year-old Bateson, who has presided over the club for the last 12 years and will tour Australia with the England Masters squad in May.

"I've seen some of them were posting screen-shots of the league table on Facebook (Bradford are currently second on goal difference).

"Everyone at the club is really keen for the games further afield if we can get promoted. Hopefully they can do it."
