VETERAN Fred Gibbs has struck gold for Bingley Harriers and England.
Gibbs won the over-75 category at the British Masters International Cross-Country race in Nottingham, clocking 27min 4sec for the three two-kilometres laps on a fine, mild day with firm underfoot conditions.
He was followed home by Ireland's Jim McNamara (27:59) and Scotland's Les Nicol (28:21) as England also took the team award, Gibbs being supported by Barrow and Northern Vets pair Tony Berry and David Spencer.
England took team gold in all male categories, except the men's 60-64 and 65-69, and all female categories, except 55-59.
