FORMER Bradford Dukes speedway star Kelvin Tatum is heading back to West Yorkshire as part of his stage tour alongside broadcasting colleague Nigel Pearson.

Tatum, who spent two successful seasons at Odsal in 1992 and 1993 – winning the Knockout Cup along the way – will be talking about his career as a rider and in television at Halifax Golf Club on Wednesday, February 15.

The pair have formed a successful TV partnership, both for domestic coverage on Sky Sports and the World Championship with rights holders BSI, and they travel throughout Europe in the summer.

"This is the third year Nigel and I have been on tour and the response throughout the country has been amazing," said Tatum.

"I enjoyed my time with Bradford. The Ham brothers, Allan and Bobby, were great people to race for and the track was one of my favourites.

"I'm particularly looking forward to going back to West Yorkshire and I hope to see a few familiar faces there."

Pearson added: "We were talking about the tour during the season and I wasn't really bothered. We'd been on the road all over Europe, so I thought we'd give it a rest.

"But now we're into the winter, I'm looking forward to it. I know how much interest remains in the Halifax/Bradford area for the sport. Hopefully those fans that only get to watch on TV these days will enjoy what we have to say."

Tickets are £8 in advance from sportstalkevents.co.uk/bookingoffice or £10 on the door if any places remain.
