BRADFORD-based Dave Brook, of Team Arkoni, had another incident-packed weekend in the Thundersportgb GB1 Superstock 1000 class at Donington Park.

He explained: "I came away from Donington with mixed feelings. I had a little spill in practice which was rectified and I was ready for qualifying.

"I put it out of my mind but the fall probably took the edge of my result in qualifying.

"I was positive on lap one of race one, when I was third but the race was red-flagged due to a crash and I got taken out on the restart by Shane Pearson.

"It was a scruffy move and it very nearly had me off. I went from sixth or so back to almost 36th! The story of that race was basically making my way through traffic and I managed to finish sixth in the end.

"Salvaging points was the best I could aim for. To add insult to injury, because I was riding with traffic, my lap times were down, which punished my Mega Laps result, which basically positions you on the grid for the Sunday, based on your best race and qualifying times."

Brook added: "I got another good start in race two on Sunday, which was again red-flagged and, although not quite as good, I managed to grab myself a podium with a third!

"I felt happy with the result but knew if I had started further up the grid I could have done even better . . . but that's racing!

"Race three was a total washout and the track was treacherous. I was second 'stock' at one point but, after a moment on almost every corner, I decided to knock it down a peg and bring it home in fourth.

"In a nutshell, I always enjoy riding the bike but this weekend wasn't the best. I am really looking forward to getting on the bike at Snetterton at the start of May!"

Brook concluded: "The bike is doing exactly what I want now and hopefully I'll be taking a little bit of luck with me!"
