ASA Briggs A have been crowned champions of the Thurston section in the Bradford Monday Evening League.

After starting the evening a point behind Ladyhill, they defeated them 15-11 in the last match of the season to pip their opponents by just three chalks.

Starring for Asa were Jason Watters (21-6), Scott Sansom (21-12) and Mark Pearson, who recovered from a 12-4 deficit to win 21-14.

Ladyhill were second, finishing five points ahead of Shipley Club A.

Heckmondwike A make a quick return to the second-tier Robert Bland division and are joined by Crowghyll A, with both teams finishing well adrift of third-bottom Asa Briggs B.

Drighlington A and Wibsey A are promoted back to the top section following last year's relegation.

Drighlington ended with a 20-6 success at Littlemoor to finish 40 points clear of Wibsey A, who climaxed their campaign with a 16-10 home win against Eccleshill to guarantee promotion as runners-up.

Relegated were Wibsey B and Peel, who could only manage one season in Division Two.

Oakenshaw finished with a 20-6 home win over Bowling A to win the City Sports third division, ending five points ahead of Birkenshaw A, who finished with a 16-10 home win over Shipley Club B to seal the runners-up spot.

Bradford Moor A and Troydale are the unfortunate teams to be relegated to Division Four.

Myrtle B were already crowned as champions of the Carter's Sports League well before the last match, winning 15 out of 16 games and finishing 69 chalks ahead of second-placed Clayton B.

Myrtle finished the season with a crushing 25-1 victory over Brackenhill A, while Clayton B's 14-12 win at Birkenshaw B was enough to pip Asa Briggs C by just two points.

Heckmondwike B and Bradford Moor B make a quick return to the bottom division following last year's promotion.

Salts B ended with a 22-4 win over Brackenhill B to be crowned Dunnes Stores fifth-tier champions – finishing 15 points ahead of their opponents, who would have been glad to see nearest challengers Oakenshaw B lose 14-12 at home to Bowling A. It meant Brackenhill finished runners-up by the skin of their teeth.
