Catch details for week ending April 8 – Day ticket: Fewston 25, Swinsty 8, Thruscross (catch & return) 1. Total fish caught: Fewston 184, Swinsty 31, Thruscross 4. Average per rod: Fewston 7.4, Swinsty 3.9, Thruscross 4.0. The heaviest fish caught was an 8lb rainbow trout by Keith Sunderland using Montana.

Fewston: A cracking week’s fishing, still mainly on lures with bank-high water almost freezing. Swinsty: Lower water levels gives better access to fish close to feeding fish. ‘Shoaled up’ fish can be seen moving along the water line. Thruscross: It’s been wild up at Thruscross, cold and choppy, but brown trout taking fly and spider near overhanging trees.

BRADFORD CITY AA

Most of the club’s stillwaters are producing well after the recent hot spell. Members are also reminded that they should now be in possession of a new Environment Agency rod licence before fishing club waters. Members are also reminded that the small lake at Staveley will be closed on Sunday for the second of the spring/ summer matches. There is only one place left for this match and anyone wanting to book a place for this or the two remaining matches should telephone 07875-275749 or 01423-523368.

BRADFORD No1 AA

Shelf Dam top pond will be closed to members on Sunday for a working party. The first members’ match of the year at Raskelf on Sunday, April 22 is sold out. Shelf Dam bottom pond is fishing well for bream to 4lb, chub and roach. Knotford Lagoon is producing some good catches of carp, tench and bream to feeder tactics to day and night anglers. F1’s, crucians and tench are now being caught by most anglers at Raskelf Lake.

BINGLEY AC

The next match is on the canal on Sunday, draw 9am at Morton Lane swing bridge. To book telephone A Greenwood on 07971-428678. No blood worm or joker. Trout are being caught on fly at Riddlesden Hall. Members must book by telephoning 07780-654194 before fishing and all catches must be reported.

LISTERHILLS AA

The draw for Sunday’s open match at Rodley is at 11am at Ted’s café just above the road bridge. The first of the Saturday series of open matches at Rodley is on April 21. Telephone 07984-597328.

Congratulations to John Foreman for winning our match at Lindholme with 65lb 15oz and for nearly staying until the end. Second was Mick MacDonald with 41lb and third was Martin Sereika with 39lb 7oz.
