Bradford Pals AC

The date of our annual meeting has had to be changed and will now be held on Sunday, January 22 at 12.30pm in the Fighting Cock on Preston Street. 2012 membership fees can be paid at the meeting. It is important that as many members attend as possible. Food will be provided. All prospective new members should return their completed application forms before then to Andy Clough.

Listerhills AA

Last week’s trophy match at Pilley’s Dam was won by D Stephenson with a single perch weighing 1lb 14½oz, 2 E Harrison 13½oz, 3 W Barker. Harrison was also second in the Bank Holiday Sweepstake on the canal. Best authenticated recent catches from Pilley’s Dam include a 15lb mirror carp caught by M Forden and a pike of 12½lb caught by K Curley.

Bradford City AA

After recent heavy rain the river levels are now returning to normal and good sport is expected. All members should now be in possession of the new yearbook. The first match of the year is the Trentman Trophy on Sunday, January 22 on the River Ure at Lower Dunsforth. Bradford No 1 AA

Last Sunday’s open match at Cowthorpe was won by Fred Prudham with 8lb 11½oz of chub. Second was John Leyland with 6lb 14oz, third was Geoff Cox with 3lb 14oz and joint fourth were Pete Atkins and A Lewis with 3lb 12oz. Widdington Hall is closed on Saturday for an outside booking. This venue is fishing extremely well, with double-figure nets of large roach being caught on maggot feeder. The next open match at Raskelf in February is sold out.

Bingley AC

Fishing rights at Crossgates farm in Tockwith have been withdrawn following the recent sale of the site. An alternative length of the River Nidd has been obtained, with fishing to commence from April 1. Send a sae to the secretary or see the club website for details. There will be a match on the River Aire in Myrtle Park on Sunday, February 5.

Hewenden AC

Last Sunday’s match results: 1 Ian Jackson 5lb 5oz, 2 Andy Healey 5lb 4oz; 3 Bob Greenwood 5lb ½oz. Any proposals for the annual meeting should be sent to the PO box address in your book, or by contacting Ian King by phone (number is also in your book) by March 1.
