BRADFORD No1 AA: It is with regret that the club have to announce the sudden death of trustee and life member Harry Foster. Harry served on the committee for 52 years, making him one of the longest-serving committee members in the history of the association. Over the years he served in many roles, including president, vice-chairman and match secretary. Yearbooks are now available online at www.bradfordno1.com and from local tackle shops. Members are reminded that they must be in possession of a 2012 yearbook to fish the club’s waters in the new year. The rivers Nidd and Swale are well worth a visit for chub up to 5lb in the coming weeks.

Keighley AC: Despite poor weather and swollen waters, hardy anglers turned out to contest the latest leg of the Sunday match series on the River Aire below Kildwick Bridge. Darren Watson won by a mere 5oz, narrowly pushing Tony McLarnon into second place. The next open match will be fished at the same venue on Sunday, January 8, drawing on the bridge at 8.45am. Besides the bonus peg prize there is also £50 on offer for the captor of the largest barbel during the series. That is currently a 110g specimen landed by Mick Clayton of Silsden. New and current members are reminded that yearbooks are now available from tackle shops.

LISTERHILLS AA: Membership books are now available from all the usual outlets. Applications are also being taken for Leeds Amalgamation membership, for which there is no entry fee for new members. Contact the secretary or Dave at Eccleshill Angling. Final positions in the Fox Brothers Aggregate Points Trophy: 1 E Harrison 559pts, 2 G Kitchen 392, 3 M Mannion 341, 4 D Jackson 332, 5 W Barker 286. The canal is producing roach catches to 10lb from the boats.

SALTAIRE AA: Yearbooks have been available from all local tackle shops and ticket agents since Monday. Sunday’s river match result: 1 Kevin Blyth 12lb 2oz (three chub), 2 Eric Wright 10lb 4oz (four chub), 3 Carl Chadwick 7lb 9oz (three chub). Some grayling were also caught. One of the chub weighed 5lb 9oz, one of the best seen on our lengths. All fish were in excellent condition. There are no plans to run matches on the canal at present.

HEWENDEN AC: The Christmas Cheer pike match on Sunday was won by John Duncan with one fish at 8lb 5oz. The club would also like to thank Scott at KL Tackle in Keighley for his prize donation. Also Ray and Denise at the Fleece pub in Cullingworth for laying on the food at the presentation. Thank you all. Merry Christmas from the Hewenden committee.

BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC: We have an inshore trip to Whitby on Wednesday, January 25 aboard Richard Ward’s boat ‘Shytorque 2000’. Anyone wishing to go should call Dave Kitchingman on 07711-987833 to book a place. It only remains to wish all our members a very happy Christmas and a good 2012.

BINGLEY AC: In the event that 2012 yearbooks are not available before December 31, current members may fish on 2011 books until they are. The canal is still fishing well for small fish.
