Members who turned up for the working parties at Moor Monkton Pools were fortunate with the weather. A considerable amount of work was completed and thanks are expressed to those who took part.

The result of a Tuesday match at Kippax Park was a win for A Rymer with 46lb 5oz. Others: 2 P Clark 37lb 15oz, 3 J Wake 33lb 3oz. The Saturday match was won by A Broomhead with 60lb 8oz. Others: 2 J Wake 49lb 3oz, 3 A Rymer 46lb 11oz.

The Wednesday match at Moor Monkton Pools was won by S Brown with 41lb 8oz. Others: 2 S Mazza 29lb 4oz, 3 J Roper 24lb 10oz. The Sunday match was fished on all three lakes at Moor Monkton and was won by E Boldistone with 70lb 14oz. Others: 2 M Gallagher 67lb 10oz, 3 T Browning 65lb 15oz.

The Sunday match held on the River Ouse was fished with an extra four foot of dirty water. The winner was K Hobson, who included a foul-hooked bream in his catch of 6lb. Others: 2 M Bennet 4lb 10oz, 3= I Bowman and T Hewson 2lb 9oz.

T Hewson had a catch of eight good-sized chub from Topcliffe. The coarse season on rivers finishes on the evening of March 14.

The last day on the rivers for coarse angling is this coming Tuesday. No close season is in operation on still waters or canals. There is a members' match on Sunday, March 19 at Moor Monkton Pools. A reminder that anglers who contacted the match secretary last year about fishing in this year's National Championship on September 9, to be fished on the Aire and Calder Navigation and the New Junction Canal, should confirm their intentions as soon as possible.
