THE champions of Division One and Division Four both finished their Bradford League campaigns in grand fashion with victories that preserved their unbeaten records.

Embassy Police A made it 24 successive wins in Division One with a 7-3 victory at Dewsbury Tog A, with Shayan Siraj – in his first appearance of the season – taking all three points and John Chew adding two.

Tim Dyson could manage only one but he has been the outstanding performer in the top flight and has finished the season with 58 wins from 63, well ahead of the rest in the averages.

In Division Four, Baildon B have also finished undefeated but were pushed all the way by third-placed Hermits J.

Brian Cooper and John Marjerison won twice each for Hermits, who led three times, but Steve Crossland has been so consistent for Baildon this season and he recorded another treble to take his tally to 48 victories out of 54.

John Atkinson and Richard Stanley both won once for Baildon and they secured a 6-4 overall success when Crossland and Atkinson won the doubles.

Dave Rawlins led Unity A to a 6-4 victory against Hermits D in their final Division Two fixture, which should be enough to take second place.

Rawlins dropped only one game in registering three singles points and Bill Sugden came up with crucial wins over Maurice Biott and Zarnab Jamal, while Jim Ferry also beat Biott.

Only a 10-0 victory for Hermits C against Yeadon B will now deny Unity the runners-up berth.
