SINCE the halfway split, Embassy Police B have been looking odds on to take the Bradford League Division 1B table tennis title.

Police B have won four of their five fixtures and have a healthy lead at the top.

Their latest victims were Pudsey B, who are second, but the front-runners were in control throughout as Tony Boyd took all three, with Jac Dabrowski and Paul Stephenson adding two each as the title hopefuls ran out 8-2 winners.

There was an exciting derby in Division 3A, where three teams are in contention for the runners-up spot behind runaway leaders Baildon A.

Baildon B and C and Hermits J are jostling for second place, and the bragging rights went to Baildon B following a see-saw contest.

The C team led three times as Jerry Harkawy and Shirley Toulmin won two each but Richard Stanley was the thorn in their side as he came through a marathon evening with three singles victories for the B team.

Stanley came from 2-0 down to pip Toulmin 16-14 in the fifth game, and he also stopped Harkawy 13-11 in the decider.

John Atkinson and Steve Crossland both won one for Baildon B, and they sealed a 6-4 victory with a 3-0 doubles triumph.
