BRADFORD League Division Three leaders Baildon A completed their first-half fixtures with a trip to second-placed Hermits J.

The visitors were looking to maintain an impressive record with their 12th straight victory and, despite a valiant effort from Joe Jonas, a fine all- round team performance safeguarded that proud record.

Jonas has had a good season for Hermits so far, and an unbeaten performance took his tally to 30 wins from 36, and he stands third in the averages behind Baildon's Peter Warner and Tim Williams.

These two and reserve Shirley Toulmin all won two each as Baildon triumphed 7-3.

In Division Two, Hermits D also have a 100 per cent record and went into the halfway break with a 10-0 success over Hermits E, who are sweating on a top-half spot.

The D team showed no mercy as Maurice Biott, Ian Warner and Peter Johnson were all unbeaten.

In the second half of the season, the three divisions will split in half, with the seven teams in each section playing each other twice in what should be a very competitive programme.
