FIVE talented divers from the Bradford Esprit Diving club met Olympic bronze medallist Tom Daley after representing the North-East region at the English Schools Swimming Association National Diving Championships.

The competition was held at the London Aquatics Centre last month (December) and World Champion diver Daley presented medals to Bradford Esprit’s Holly Waxman, 15, and 12-year-old Koben O’Driscoll.

The pair won a gold and a silver medal respectively.

Holly’s success followed on from her bronze medal awarded at the Scottish Open Diving Championships in Edinburgh the previous week.

The remaining Bradford Esprit divers included in the North-East team were: Abbie Hindle, 11, Joseph Nicol,15, and 17-year-old Domi Hinchliffe.

And all the team's performances contributed to the North-East Division receiving the highest number of points nationally and winning the team trophy.

Meanwhile, ‘Santa Skills’ novice event was underway at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

Bradford Esprit was represented by 16 divers who achieved some great results, especially Owen Passmore,16, who won gold in the 1m event.

The novice divers were expertly coached by new trainee coaches Sophie Mawson and Ben Patrick.

Bradford Esprit is part of the Bradford Council Diving Scheme and they are managed by Joe Meszaros, diving development manager.

The team is based at Shipley Pool.
