BRENDAN Watson and Omar Hussain may not have brought any medals back from their first FINA World Masters Championships, but the City of Bradford duo did set personal-best times in all eight of the events that they competed in.

Watson had the highest finish of the pair in Budapest with 18th in the 200 metres backstroke in a time 2min 26.89sec in the 25-29 years' age group.

He also competed in the 50m and 100m backstroke and 50m freestyle.

The best for Hussain, in the 30-34 years' age group, was 24th in the 200m freestyle in 2 min 08.56sec, and also competed in the 50m and 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly.

Both swimmers train with Bradford Council's leisure services aquatic competition programme under the guidance of senior coach Andy Pearce.
