PUDSEY Pearls have enjoyed a superb autumn season – pulling in a phenomenal 37 medals from four top events.

First up for the highly successful synchronised swimming club was the Leeds Development competition.

Hannah Thackray began the medal rush with bronze in figures and silver in solo in the under-12 category, while duet partners Saskia Seddon and Jasmine Stainsby each scored a hat-trick in the 13/14 age group.

As well as gold for their duet performance, Seddon took a further gold in her solo and silver in figures where partner Stainsby pipped her, taking gold along with a bronze in solo.

A week later, Pearls triumphed in the Multi-Regionals in Sheffield.

Predine Utting-Simon led the under-12 age group with gold in figures and silver in solo, while the Pearls dominated in the 13-15 age group – with gold, silver and bronze in figures for Millie Costello, Grace Steadman and Georgia Fielding respectively.

Costello and Steadman went on to take gold and silver for their solo routines, and the latter completed her silver trio with her duet performance with Fielding.

Team-mates Sam Breen and Ellie Jefferson also took bronze in the duet.

The 13-15 squad completed the day with a gold medal for their team routine and the under-12 squad brought back the silver.

The Yorkshire competition in Liversedge saw every member of the Pearls squad return home with a gold medal, including two team golds for the Under-12s and 13/14 squad.

Finally, the swimmers within the City of Leeds programme travelled to Glasgow for the Scottish National Age Group Championships to represent Yorkshire.

The Pearls were delighted to be able to show individual success as well as helping Leeds to medals in the team events. Costello took silver in figures and solo in the 13-15 age group as well as in the duet with partner Steadman.

The 12 and under team, the 13-15 team and the 19 and under team all took silver in their categories.

The remainder of 2015 sees the Pearls competing in Sweden and at the British National Age Group championships – and all before Christmas.
