ARCHIE Dunne took the main honours for City of Bradford Swimming Club in the ASA North East Region British Age Group Category Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

He looked impressive as he claimed the 11-12 years' 50 metres freestyle title in 28.29sec, finishing over a second in front of his nearest rival.

Archie then went on the claim third place in the 100m event to place him among the top 12-year-old freestyle swimmers in the country.

Dalton Clapham had a busy programme in the same age group, claiming fourth place in the 200m and 400m individual medleys, 200m freestyle and 50m butterfly.

Showing further versatility, he went on to place fifth in the 1500m freestyle, seventh in the 50m breaststroke, eighth in the 200m breaststroke and tenth in the 100m breaststroke and 50m freestyle.

Success also came the way of 14-year-old John-Luke Hutchinson.

He opened proceedings with seventh place in the 14 years' 50m breaststroke and followed that with eighth in the 100m breaststroke and ninth in the 200m breaststroke.

Bringing up the rear was 12-year old Archie Minto, who was tenth in the 11-12 years' 100m butterfly.

All of the swimmers train on the Bradford Aquatics Competition programme under the guidance of coach Sarah Fisher.
