TWO-TIME world champion Gary Anderson will come up against Joe Cullen and Dave Chisnall in this year’s Keighley Darts Masters on Friday at The Victoria Hall.

“The Flying Scotsman”, who won the PDC World Championships in 2015 and 2016, is really looking forward to the event, which is being organised by MJK Sports.

He said: “It will be a cracking night. I work with MJK Sports all the time and they always put on a good show.”

The 47-year-old Scottish star will face stiff competition from last year’s winner Dave Chisnall, who hit a barrage of 180s and big checkouts on his way to lifting the crown with wins over Michael “Bully Boy” Smith and former two-time world champion Adrian “Jackpot” Lewis.

World number seven Chisnall said: “I can’t wait to come back to Keighley to defend my crown. The crowd were immense last year and they are in for another treat this year.”

Chisnall and Anderson will be joined at the event by Bradford-born star Joe Cullen. “The Rockstar” is one of the hottest prospects in the game and he is also looking forward to the event.

“I can’t wait to test myself against Ando and Chizzy in Keighley. I am not just turning up to make up the numbers. I am confident that I can lift the trophy,” said Cullen.

Mick Speight is looking forward to hosting the event.

“There’s lots of interest in it after last year’s event which was an absolute classic," he said.

“There were 180s galore, big finishes and lots of drama, plus plenty of player interaction with the crowd. What more could you ask for?”

Anderson, Chisnall and Cullen will all play each other in games over the best of 11 legs. The final will be contested by the best two players over a minimum of 21 legs.

The event promises to be the Keighley’s biggest darts night of the year for the fourth year running.
