Their second frame was a much tighter affair but Cooper edged it 58-47.

Captain Kevin Firth made the most of a scrappy third frame, taking it 47-5, but opponent Anthony Green stopped the rot for the second string with a 54-34 win.

Mark Slater took on No 2 captain Hanif Rafiq and closed the match out with frame wins of 59-22 and 79-24.
