Right on Cue

THE Bradford No 1 snooker side were on the wrong end of a 4-2 outcome when they entertained Sheffield No 3 in Division One of the Yorkshire Inter-District League.

Wayne Wootton opened Sheffield's account with a 78-56 success against Wayne Cooper, who levelled the match with a comprehensive 76-8 second-frame victory.

Kevin Firth won a very cagey third frame 59-22 for Bradford but opponent Ashley Carty made a break of 79 to breeze through the next 85-0.

The final match-up then saw Mark Slater struggle during both his frames, with Sheffield player Will Lemons taking the first 55-29 and a break of 61 helping him to an 80-19 success in the last of the night.

Bradford No 2 faired a little better, earning a 3-3 draw against Harrogate at Cue Gardens.

Host trio Anthony Green, Boover Singh and Hanif Rafiq all shared frames with their opponents, Gyles Behbood making the highest break of the contest with a 59 for Harrogate.
