Bradford Bulldogs suffered a second defeat in a week to English National League North rivals Flintshire Freeze as the Welsh side ran out 6-1 winners.

The Bulldogs had lost the away match 5-3 and were slow out of the blocks in the home return, falling behind six minutes before the end of the first period.

Flintshire added two more goals early in the second period before Josh Stockton pulled one back, only for the visitors to quickly restore their three-goal cushion.

With the game out of their reach, Bradford upped the pace in the third period and had good chances to score but the Freeze netminder produced some fine saves.

Flintshire then struck two more late goals to leave the Bulldogs with a lot of work to do before they travel to Solihull a week on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs under-12s produced a fine performance to earn their first win of the season 8-2 at Blackburn.

Alfie Glenn led the rout with four goals and was supported by Kieran Brown (3) and Charlie Marsden, who scored his first goal for the club.

The under-16s also gained their first victory of the season, beating Grimsby 4-2 at home.
