Platinum pair in novice finals

Bradford amateurs Mohammed Nadeem and Ryan Laybourn are in action in tomorrow’s finals of the Senior Novice ABAE Championships in Portsmouth.

Nadeem faces Zubeer Mohammed (Fitzroy Lodge) in the light-welterweight final, while cruiserweight Laybourn takes on David Bailey (Empire).

Both box for the city’s Platinum club and gym boss Huggy Osman said: “They have a lot of ability. Nadeem is still unbeaten and Ryan just needs to boost his confidence.”

The novice championships are for boxers who have had less than ten bouts.
