NATASHA Gale is hoping to make a positive impression for an inexperienced group of English boxers on her Commonwealth Games debut in Australia next month.
The Leeds-born fighter, who is part of the Jubilee Club in Sheffield, will compete in the 75kg women's category at Gold Coast.
She will be looking to follow in the footsteps of fellow Leeds boxer Nicola Adams, who won gold in Glasgow four years ago.
Team England have selected a highly capable squad and chef de mission Sarah Winckless said: "English boxing is in an extremely strong position. To be able to welcome 12 boxers to the team gives me great pleasure.
"The women's side of the sport goes from strength to strength and I look forward to working with our four talented female athletes."
The Games have proved to be a platform in the past for boxers to go on to bigger and better things, with the career of James DeGale taking off after his bronze medal at Melbourne in 2006.
