NICOLA Adams will face Virginia Noemi Carcamo of Argentina on her professional boxing debut at the Manchester Arena on April 8.
The 32-year-old Carcamo has won four of her seven pro contests, all of which have taken place in her homeland.
Former Bradford College student Adams said: "Now that my first opponent has been announced, all I want to do is get in the ring. I'm so excited for my first fight."
The double Olympic champion has been training in the United States with Virgil Hunter since leaving the amateur ranks in the wake of her triumph in Rio.
Adams believes she has already matured as a fighter as she aims to cap her career with a professional world title.
She said: "Training with Virgil Hunter has been amazing. He's taught me some great new things for my professional debut.
"All my focus is on April 8 and the road to becoming a world champion."
