TRUE boxing great Sugar Ray Leonard is on his way to Bradford.

Leonard, who defeated some of the greatest fighters in history, is appearing at the Richard Dunn sports centre on November 28.

The first boxer to earn more than 100 million dollars in purse money, he went from Olympic glory to huge professional success.

Leonard won belts in five different weight divisions in a 40-fight career that saw just three defeats.

He took on legendary names like Marvin Hagler and Roberto “hands of stone” Duran, forcing him to surrender on his stool in the famous “no mas” fight.

Now 58, Leonard will talk about his highs and lows of life, both inside and outside the ring, when he is interviewed in front of the Bradford audience.

Afterwards, he will take part in a public question-and-answer session as well as a VIP reception where fans can have their picture taken with him.

Leonard said: “I am really looking forward to my visit to Bradford in November and I am excited to be meeting some of the fabulous boxing fans.

“Good wishes to the wonderful people of Bradford and I hope to see many of you at the Richard Dunn sports centre on November 28.”

Promoter Mick Speight of MJK Sports Events said: "Ray is a bona fide boxing legend, a true gentleman and is great with his fans. It is a pleasure to bring him to Bradford for this event.”
