Cooper swaps cues for arrows
Bradford's Wayne Cooper, who has just qualified for snooker's main tour, will have the chance to shine at another sport next month.
The 29-year-old had his name pulled out of the hat from Laisterdyke Cricket Club's table of 12 and will face Peter One Dart' Manley at an
exhibition evening at the New Tyke on Thornton Road on Friday, May 9 (7.30).
"My mates are gutted that they didn't win," laughed Cooper. "I've said Give me £50 and you can buy my prize' but there haven't been any
takers!"
All 16 tables have been sold for the evening involving three-times World Championship runner-up Manley but there are still 20 seats left, priced £5 each. Contact Dave Ryan if you are interested on 07780-977648.
Ryan said: "It will be interesting to see how Wayne gets on. It's only a pity that we didn't have Wayne Mardle playing as well. Then we could have had Hawaii 501 against Bradford 147!"
