Open Championship blow for Ilkley’s James Hepworth

Ilkley’s James Hepworth missed out on a place in the Open Championship despite leading the qualifying field at the halfway stage.
Hepworth opened with a six-under-par 66 at St Annes Old – one of four courses being used to find 12 qualifiers – but added a 75 to finish sixth at the venue, with only the top three advancing to Royal Lytham & St Annes later this month.
