Saltaire AA: It is with sadness that the association have to announce the death of Cyril Senior last Saturday aged 91. He was a life member and had been a committee member and watcher for many years. He will have been familiar to many anglers, who will remember him checking for yearbooks and day tickets on the canal and river near Saltaire. Other family members are present and past committee members. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with his family. We would like all members to report their good catches to the secretary, possibly with some photographs. Some good catches are being reported on both the river and canal. The match on Sunday, January 29 was won by Eric Wright. His 26lb 5oz catch included a large bag of chub and a single specimen roach of 2lb 3oz. The match last Sunday, fished on a cold and snowy day, was won by James Vickerman with two chub and two grayling for 8lb 7½ oz. The next match is on the river on Sunday, February 26.

BRADFORD CITY AA: The association would like to add their condolences following the death of Cyril Senior, who was a member of the general committee in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. In the 1980s and 90s he ran our junior matches and was a regular face on the working parties at Staveley and Shipton lakes. As well as a committee member, he was also the Western Division and Aire & Calder delegate. Members are asked when fishing the club’s waters to take extra care on river banks and not attempt to walk across frozen still waters due to the extreme weather conditions which we are currently experiencing. The next match is on Sunday, February 19 on the River Ure at Lower Dunsforth. There are currently two golden pegs worth £100 and £15. BRADFORD SEA AC: Our next general meeting will be on Tuesday, February 21 at the New Inn, East Bierley, starting at 8pm. We have a trip to Whitby on Saturday, February 25. Anyone wishing to go should call Dave on 07711-987833 to book a place. Please note that subs are now due, at still only £10 per year. Also, members who won trophies last year should return them at this meeting so we can get them engraved ready for the presentation evening next month. If there is anyone wishing to join our club, please come and make new fishing friends at this meeting. You will be made most welcome.

BRADFORD No 1 AA: Widdington Hall is closed on Saturday for an outside booking. Raskelf Lake is closed on Sunday for an open match. A decision will be made tomorrow evening on this match going ahead or not, taking into account whether the lake is frozen, so please call the match secretary (01274-571175) or check the website (www.bradfordno1.com) to confirm if the match is still on. Yearbooks are still available from tackle shop agents, the ticket and licence secretary and online.

LISTERHILLS AA: There has been no price increase in this year’s membership books, with the adult book costing £13 and all other classes £6. Day tickets for the canal are £2 and day tickets for Pilley’s cost £5. There will be a working party at Pilley’s Dam in the next few weeks and any help will be appreciated. A reminder that any member can use their membership books as a watcher’s card and request other persons fishing club waters to produce proof of membership.

HEWENDEN AC: The next match will be on Sunday, with a 9.15am draw. All members are welcome, costing £10 all in. If there are any proposals for the AGM, they should be sent to the PO box address in your book or call Ian King (phone number also in your book) before March 1.

BINGLEY AC: Sunday’s match on the River Aire fished well despite the snow. Result: 1 J Clarke 4lb 8oz (five grayling), 2 A Greenwood 2lb 12oz (three grayling), 3 P Kitchen 2lb 8oz (two grayling). Several trout were caught up to 4lb. The next committee meeting is on Tuesday.
