Damian Wilks joined Bradford team-mate Kevin Firth in the last 16 of the English Club Players’ Championship after a hard-fought victory in Grimsby against the highly-rated Jamie Barrett.
Wilks won a scrappy opening frame but then Barrett hit form, making breaks of 39, 70 and 48 to lead 3-1.
However, Wilks dug deep and a break of 76 pulled a frame back, followed by a match-levelling break of 57.
In the decider, Barrett broke off and left a long shot on a red, which Wilks duly accepted and continued to finish the match with an excellent 94 break.
Both Firth and Wilks will compete down to the final when the last 16 resumes on May 13 in Leicester.
Bradford No 1 are in action on Sunday in a re-arranged fixture in Division One of the Yorkshire Inter-District League, when they head to Sheffield No 2.
Second legs of both the Hey’s Trophy and E Rosse Hopkinson Plate are to be played next Thursday, with the winning captains to send results to tournament director Eddie Ratcliffe.
Players are reminded that the deadline for matches to be completed in the Bradford Snooker singles is February 18, and results are to be forwarded to tournament director Richard Hagerty as soon as possible.
