YORKSHIRE defeated North Midlands 434-396 in the final of the British Crown Green Ladies' Championship at Bridgewater Bowling Club in Whitchurch, Shropshire.

The final was played over two greens, with Yorkshire only pulling clear in the latter stages.

Callum Wraight (Shropshire) won the 2017 Brighouse Classic, sponsored by Damart, defeating Graeme Wilson (Lower Hopton) 21-11 in the final.

Wraight was in superb form, conceding only 40 chalks in his four games.

Wins over Ryan Clark (Sheffield) 21-10, Ashley Tattersley (Lower Hopton) 21-7 and James Hanson (Pudsey) 21-12 put Wraight through to the final, while Wilson made it through with victories over Ian Booth (Lower Hopton) 21-17, Elliott McGuinness (West Bromwich) 21-19 and Andy Webb (Ossett Flying Horse) 21-10.

Wraight was always in control of the final.
