CYCLING starlet Tom Pidcock produced another stunning performance in Durham as he became the first rider from a guest team to secure an individual win in a British Tour series race.

The 17-year-old Junior Paris Roubaix and world junior cyclo-cross champion stormed to victory and grabbed the limelight for his impressive PH-MAS / Paul Milnes / Oldfield team.

The race went well as Pidcock and team-mates Jim Brown (13th) and Oscar Mingay all made easy work of the climbs and the wet cobbles in the early part of the race.

Pidcock, from Otley, attacked after 25 minutes to solo to victory by 14 seconds in the end. He also recovered from a puncture thanks to an amazing bike change by team manager Neil Hendry.

The crowd was electric as Pidcock created his slice of history, just a day after finishing school for his exams.

His junior team had been invited to join the Tour Series for the last two races. Pidcock had finished sixth in their first outing at Motherwell days earlier, which showed just why they were asked to compete.
