REIGNING Naylor Premier League champions Pudsey A carded their first victory of the season with an impressive 17-13 win at Cononley.

Not many teams will win at Cononley but six away winners ensured the Champions came away with a victory.

Jon Wilcox, with a superb 21-4 victory, was the pick of nine home winners as Crossgates thumped Shipley Club A 24-6, to make it three wins from three games.

Meanwhile, Whitkirk beat Asa Briggs by the same scoreline, thanks to Lewis Cooper 21-6 and Kristian Walder 21-8.

Littlemoor A were helped by a 21-7 win by Adam Wider, as they defeated Clayton A 20-10. Brighouse Sports A were 23-7 home winners against Eccleshill A, thanks to Tony Riley 21-6, Ronnie Wormald 21-6 and Robert Hopper 21-9.

Shipley Club B carded their first victory of their Godwin League campaign, after three successive defeats with a 19-11 win over Rufford A, despite a great 21-6 from Martyn Benson for the visitors.

Kevin Wood starred for Spen Victoria A with a 21-7 successive, as they inflicted a 17-13 defeat on Ladyhill A, who would have been happy to have carded five away winners.

Hove Edge A stunned Clayton B with a 22-8 away success, thanks to an impressive eight away winners, whilst Hove Edge B shocked Guiseley A with a 21-9 victory.

Yorkshire play their first match of the British Parks County Crown Green Senior County Championship, against North Shropshire on Sunday, May 21, with the home match at Littlemoor S & SC and the away match at Hadnall Bowling Club.

Both matches get underway at 2pm, and Yorkshire will be looking for great support at both venues, as they look to improve on last year’s performance.

Group A sees Leeds Ladies, Leeds, Sheffield ICT & Barkston Ash drawn together, whilst Bradford, Heavy Woollen, Aire/Wharfe and Hebden Royd make up Group B. The full draw is:

The closing date for the Yorkshire Parks Brotherton and Wood Cups has been extended in the hope entries can reach 16 in both competitions as previous years. Cost is £10 per team with 1st Round games due to be played on Friday 9th June, with the finals in the Heavy Woollen District on Sunday 9th July.
