PUDSEY A have won the West Riding Cup after defeating Lower Hopton A 205-191 in the final on the front green at Spen Victoria.

The Leeds club made a much better start, with James Hanson 21-5 and Tom Hanson 21-7 giving Pudsey a 25-point advantage after four jacks.

Lower Hopton clawed five chalks back in the middle four matches, Ashley Tattersley starring with a 21-10 success, but Pudsey still held a comfortable advantage thanks to Chris Mordue's 21-11.

The Mirfield club were unable to big make inroads into Pudsey's lead, however, despite wins by Joel Abdy 21-10 and Stuart King 21-12.

Littlemoor A shocked Crossgates to win the Pilling Cup 217-205 on the back green at Spen Victoria. Both teams were below strength but it was the underdogs who came out on top.

Littlemoor made the perfect start with a great 21-10 win by Marc Armitage as they built an 11-point advantage after four jacks.

They extended the lead to 27 chalks after eight jacks thanks to Craig Hebbard 21-7 and Paul Wilczynski 21-11. Crossgates fought back at the end, Nigel Cranston starring with a 21-6, but it was too little too late as Littlemoor took the match by 12 chalks.
