BRADFORD League Division Four leaders Baildon B have an impressive record so far this season, with only Hermits J having managed to share the points with them.

But Baildon B came close to losing their unbeaten tag at home to mid-table Hermits K.

Baildon were without their No 1 Steve Crossland but John Atkinson did his best to preserve their record with three singles.

Shirley Toulmin was standing in for Crossland and she added an important single as Baildon led 4-3 but Hermits threatened an upset when Joe Healey and Michael Butler took two each and Rob White added one to put them 5-4 ahead.

But Atkinson and Toulmin took the doubles as the champions elect salvaged a draw.

In Division Three, Hermits G are within distance of the title, but for the third time this season they failed against Baildon A.

Hermits have a perfect record against the rest of Division Three but not  Baildon.

Tim Williams took his tally for the season to 30 out of 33 with three singles in straight games, and Chris Wiley added two and Peter Warner one as Baildon enjoyed a 7-3 success.

In Division Two, Unity A look on course for second place behind Pudsey A after victory over Highdale B.

Steve Whitaker led the way with three singles and Dave Rawlings and Jim Ferry took two each as Unity won 7-3 and tightened their grip on the runners-up spot.
