KEIGHLEY'S Rebecca Granger is through to the last 16 of the Eden Ladies' World Snooker Championship in Singapore.

She achieved her wish of being seeded in the top eight beforehand, thus avoiding higher seeds, and was drawn in Group F, where she won all three of her matches.

World No 12 Granger, who was a shock semi-finalist last year when the tournament was held at the Northern Snooker Cerntre in Leeds, defeated Neeta Kothari (India) 5-0, Jessica Tan Hui Ming (Singapore) 4-1 and Chu Pui Ying (Hong Kong) 5-0.

Granger's record of winning 14 of her 15 frames in the group stages was equalled by Group G winner Katrina Wan (Hong Kong), and only bettered by 11-times world champion and felow Englishwoman Reanne Evans, who took all 15 of her frames in winning Group C.

Now Granger faces another Singaporean in the last 16 at the Lagoon Billiard Room in Group C runner-up Hoe Shu Wah.

The tournament, which is being held overseas for the first time, finishes on Sunday.
