PUDSEY Synchro created a big splash in autumn regional events, with every member of the squad medalling over a two-week period.

The Yorkshire Junior and Senior Synchro competition at Spenborough Pool was the first of these, and Pudsey's team had a clean sweep of medals in the 13-14 years' age group in the Skill Three and Four categories in figure and solo events.

The club formerly known as Pudsey Pearls also dominated the duet category in this age group, taking gold and bronze in the Skill Three section and gold in Skill Four.

Their team-mates in the 15-17 years' age group added to the medal tally, achieving gold in the Skill Three category for figures, and taking silver and bronze for figures and a silver for solo in the Skill Four section.

Meanwhile, the 19 and under team received a bronze for their combination routine against stiff opposition from clubs all over Yorkshire and the North East of England.

The following week, Pudsey Synchro returned to Spenborough for the North East Invitational Competition, with the opposition increasing as it included clubs from Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

But the Pudsey team dominated the 13-15 years' age group, taking gold and silver in figure and solo categories, and winning all three medals in the duet section.

The 12 and under team claimed bronze for their routine.

Pudsey Synchros' coach Sue Barrington said: “The standards at these competitions are very high, so we are delighted that the Pudsey squads did so well.

"They all have worked very hard throughout the year and thoroughly deserve their success.”
