PUDSEY A put themselves on the verge of retaining the Naylor Premier League title with two thumping results against weakened teams.

Firstly they travelled to relegated Wyke A, and carded a 28-2 away win, with Chris Hatton 21-8, Thomas Hanson 21-8, James Hanson 21-9 and Chris Mordue 21-9 the pick of nine away winners.

Then they entertained Brighouse Sports A, who were looking to finish in third place. Thomas Hanson 21-2, Josh Mordue 21-6, Dan Beardsworth 21-7, Gary Wike 21-7 and James Hanson 21-8 put paid to their chances as Pudsey won 29-1. Crossgates were the only other challengers to Pudsey, and would have been happy with two away victories on Saturday, firstly 17-13 at Ladyhill A followed by an 18-12 win at Shipley Club, but Pudsey are certainties to become champions. Meanwhile at the bottom, Asa Briggs A gave themselves a fighting chance of survival after a 21-9 home win over Ladyhill A, thanks to Mark Senior 21-8 and Clive Foord 21-9. Asa hold a four-point advantage over Ladyhill, but will be hoping Clayton do them a favour as Asa travel to Pudsey in their last game.

Littlemoor S&SC A and Cononley are fighting to become champions of the Godwin League. Littlemoor currently hold a two-point advantage but with Cononley still having to play them at home as well as Pudsey B, the title looks to be heading the south Craven club's way.

Both carded impressive 22-8 away wins last weekend, with Cononley winning at already-relegated Eccleshill B, while Littlemoor won at Elland C&BC. Graham Raey starred for Cononley with a 21-8 success, while Jim Moorin 21-6, Brian Richards 21-7 and Martin Fulton 21-9 did the damage for Littlemoor.

Pudsey B look certain to miss out on promotion yet again, despite carding an impressive 27-3 win over Akroydon Victoria A, with Mick Smith 21-4, Kevin Rankin 21-6, Nathan Dobson and Tom Lawrence 21-8 the pick of nine home winners. Brighouse Sports B look to be joining relegated Eccleshill B in the Observer League next season, despite a 19-11 home win over Clayton B, thanks to a great 21-7 from Nigel Marshall.
