THE final of the Bradford Snooker Pairs Championship has been confirmed after Josh Walker and Russell Morgan defeated fellow Undercliffe Cricket club players Wayne Cooper and Kevin Firth 3-2 at Great Horton Conservative Club.

That set up a tie with Eccleshill Victoria Conservative Club duo Lewis Walsh and Howard Mawson.

The second semi-final had been delayed several weeks due to Walker suffering a broken hand prior to the original date.

The match proved to be a scrappy affair, with all four players struggling to get into any sort of rhythm and the highest break of the night only being 28.

As well as their semi-final success, Walker and Morgan have beaten Neil Hudson and Craig Brook 3-0, as well as defending champions Gareth and Anthony Green 3-2.

Walsh and Mawson won their first two rounds 3-0 against Chris Sneddon and Keith Walker and Chris and Dave Tolson.

Their semi-final match was similar to Walker and Morgan's, with a 3-2 success over father and son Chris and John Wellham.

The final is to be played at Great Horton Conservative Club tonight (Thursday) (7.45).

As reported in last week's column, Clayton Rugby Club A won Moorhouse Shield billiards once again.

They defeated Great Horton Conservative Club 597-445 in the final at Chapel Green Liberal Club.

Paul Ascough won his match 200-81 against Aussie McGann, while Peter Smith beat Dave Western 200-173.

Hughie Donnelly was successful against Terry Crawshaw 200-145, with Great Horton's Steve Wilman breaking the Clayton dominance with a 200-131 victory over Nick Hale.
