MARK Allman (Littlemoor) and Gary Ellis (Whitefield) were week two qualifiers in the 2016 Spen Masters, sponsored by P&I Hopkins Butchers.

Allman opened up with an impressive 21-10 win over Lee Heaton (Blackpool) before narrow victories over Pudsey bowlers Andy Hodgson 21-19 and Stuart Hanson 21-18 helped him progress to finals night.

Ellis qualified with triumphs over Dean Missere (Sheffield) 21-18, Steve Baskerville (Sale) 21-16 and Darren Griffiths (Chadderton) 21-5.

Qualifying continues tomorrow (Saturday) evening, with Eccleshill’s Paul Hillam in action.
