YEADON Flyers B and Unity C have been in the bottom two places in Division 1B of the Bradford League for the

whole of the second half of the season.

In the final week, with only pride at stake, it was Yeadon who avoided finishing last after they gained a hard-earned draw at home to Pudsey B.

Zoe Cheeseman was in fine form for Pudsey, winning her three singles, but the Yeadon duo of Chris Sanderson and Derek Greenwood won two each and the doubles to leave Unity in bottom place.

In Division 2B, Pudsey B needed a draw at second-placed Hermits G to avoid finishing in the bottom two.

It was a tall order but the teams had shared the points in the February fixture, and Pudsey began well with Alex Waring and Maurice Wrigley both beating Peter Chan as the first four sets were shared.

Hermits then moved into overdrive as Stuart Beaumont and Azim Afzal both won three as Hermits were 8-2 winners.
