BRADFORD No 2 look in good shape at the top of Division Two in the Yorkshire Inter-District League after a 6-0 stroll against Selby at Cue Gardens.

The only unbeaten side in the section took an early lead courtesy of a respotted black-ball game, with Peter Hamilton edging out Josh Brownridge 67-60, before following up with a 48-15 success to make it 2-0.

Captain Hanif Rafiq was in superb form, making a frame-winning break of 114 and narrowly missing the pink on the way to a clearance. He capped off a memorable night with a 68-40 success in frame four against Jamie Barker.

Josh Walker made his first appearance for the team, stepping in at short notice and performing admirably. He showed no signs of nerves, taking his first frame 101-16 – including a 57 clearance – and adding a 72-25 win to complete the whitewash.

Meanwhile, defending Division One champions and current leaders Bradford No 1 returned from Castleford No 1 with a 4-2 victory.

Wayne Cooper lost out in the first frame 60-4 but, despite a 42 break by opponent Daniel Womersley, a break of 49 saw him level the match with a 74-42 frame win.

Kevin Firth was comfortable, taking the first frame 75-37 against James Pearson before a break of 40 saw the Bradford captain take the next 87-35.

Lewis Walsh set off well, a 35 break aiding a 64-50 victory, but Mikey Tomlinson replied with a break of 65 to win the last 78-5.
