BRADFORD’S Karl Boyes has pocketed his place at next month’s PartyPoker Mosconi Cup after sealing the final qualifying spot on the European team.

The hot potter will find himself competing with and against the world’s best from both sides of the Atlantic with next month's clash being the 22nd showdown on the baize between Europe and the United States.

The tournament, which runs from December 7-10, will be hosted for the first time at The New Tropicana in Las Vegas.

Europe will be searching for their eighth title in nine years as they look to repeat the success of the 2013 trip to Nevada.

Boyes played a crucial part on the final day on that occasion, beating Earl Strickland 6-4 in their singles match-up and helping to give Europe a dominant 11-2 win.

This time around Boyes has managed to claim his fourth appearance in pool’s most famous team competition.

The WPA eight-ball world champion will be joining world and combined top-ranked Albin Oushan and second-ranked Neils Feijen on the trip to Vegas.

Wildcard picks Darren Appleton and Nick van den Berg will round off the team to play the US.

The European team's avid supporters will be making the trip across the Atlantic in their droves, hoping to see a repeat of last year's home victory in Blackpool.

The US team are taking their top five ranked players to Vegas as they try and break Europe's dominant run that has not seen the Americans win since 2009.

Their strong team will be made up of Shane Van Boening, Corey Deuel, Mike Dechaine, Justin Bergman and rookie Skyler Woodward, who is being thrown into the action for his first Mosconi Cup.

After last year’s 4,000 sell-out, the hosts will have a strong backing from their home fans as Boyes and his European team-mates go for glory on foreign soil once again.
