IT WAS a good week for the females in the Bradford Table Tennis League, with the Pudsey duo of Zoe Cheeseman and Joanna Roberts guiding their team to a draw against Embassy Police-B, with six of the 10 sets going the distance.

Zoe and Joanna came flying out of the blocks as both won their opening two sets to propel Pudsey into a 4-1 lead.

However, Tony Boyd and Paul Stephenson fought back for Police in the second half of the match, with Boyd pipping Joanna 13-11 in the fifth and Stephenson stopping Zoe 11-8 in the decider.

The Embassy duo took two each and combined in the doubles to complete a fine comeback.

Zarnab Jamal was another female to hit the heights as Hermits B overcame Hermits C.

She was unbeaten and came from 2-0 down against Peter Holbrook to triumph 11-9 in the decider, and followed that with a superb win over previously unbeaten Fazal Hussain, also in five games.

Paul Mckrieth won two and Glen Ellis one as the B team ran out 6-4 winners.

The Yorkshire League programme begins this weekend, with two Bradford veterans' teams in action.

The second team face Doncaster at Hermits, while the third team travel to Scarborough.
