LOWER Hopton have won the Yorkshire Cup, defeating Brighouse Sports 226-185 in the final at Cleckheaton Sports on Sunday.

Brighouse held the early advantage, leading by five chalks after four jacks, thanks to a great 21-9 by Ronnie Wormald.

Two late wins for Brighouse – Richard Hobson 21-13 and Peter Clark 21-17 – couldn't prevent Lower Hopton's triumph.
