YORKSHIRE'S crown green bowling team, sponsored by Damart, have resoundingly claimed their place in the finals of the British Inter-County Championships, defeating Cumbria last Sunday by 98 points.

The home team, playing at Meltham, won by 104 points, with outstanding performances from Marie Lockwood (New Mill) 21-9, Karen Gant (Meltham) 21-7 and Carron McGrath (Linthwaite Hall) 21-2.

The away team, at Levens Hall, got off to a fantastic start with a 21-8 win by Nichole Farrar (Whitkirk).

Yorkshire will play Lancashire in the final on Sunday, September 20 at a venue to be notified.
