PUDSEY Pearls Synchronised Swimming Club backed up their Yorkshire success last month with more medals at the Crooked Spire competition, hosted by Rykneld Synchronised Swimming Club, in Chesterfield.

A total of 11 squads from England and Wales, including Norwich, Oxfordshire and Swansea, took part – but the Pearls' senior team, comprising girls with skill-level three, achieved gold, swimming their routine to a medley by Queen.

The intermediate team, swimming up to skill-level two, secured bronze in their category, while the senior duet team of Samantha Breen and Ellie Jefferson took silver.

Pudsey Pearls train in Guiseley and Pudsey and would welcome new members, with coach Clare Macina saying: "Synchro is a great sport – its athletic and creative, so there's something for everyone.

"It's a great way for girls and boys to keep fit and make friends. I am thrilled with the success we have had so far this year and look forward to the next competition!"
