SHIPLEY Club A defeated Brighouse Sports A 21-9 in a top-of-the-table Bradford Saturday League clash to open up a seven-point lead at the Naylor Premier summit.
Brighouse would have hoped for a better result, especially after carding four away winners, but big victories by David Jacques 21-4, Daniel Metcalfe 21-5, John Preston 21-8 and Graeme Dytiche 21-9 helped Shipley to a comfortable success.
Crossgates got back to winning ways with a 28-2 demolition of Clayton A, with Mark Taylor 21-7, Peter Wilcox 21-8, Jon Wood 21-9 and Rob Carroll 21-9 the best of nine home winners.
Meanwhile, Littlemoor A carded a much-needed 19-11 home win over Pudsey A, with Paul Bowes 21-9 the pick of seven home winners, despite a great 21-7 for Josh Mordue for the visitors.
Ladyhill A are another team having a good season as they beat Cranmore 27-3, with Scott Haynes 21-7, Richard Bloodworth 21-9 and Keith Hatzer 21-9 the leading winners for the hosts.
Guiseley A are now top of the Godwin second-tier table after an impressive 18-12 win at Rufford A, thanks to six away winners.
Rufford continue to struggle, having just won one game this season, and find themselves just above the relegation zone.
Wyke A were knocked off the top of the table after losing 20-10 at Asa Briggs A, who are now on the heels of the top two, thanks to impressive wins by Mark Senior 21-4, Andy Denton 21-7 and Jason Barker 21-8.
Elland slipped to fourth after their third successive defeat – their latest being 19-11 at Eccleshill B, who had Steve Bowes 21-5 and Justin Holgate 21-9 in top form.
Littlemoor B continue to struggle as they went down 29-1 at Brighouse Sports B, helped by Nigel Briggs 21-3, Dale Dyson 21-4, Mark Connolly 21-4 and William Muslek 21-8.
Dan Beardsworth 21-5 and Stewart Watson 21-7 helped Pudsey B to a 24-6 home win over Greengates A, who remain in the relegation zone with Littlemoor.
