OAKBANK School pupil Ffion Myers has achieved a notable double.
The 15-year-old, who is also a member of Oakbank Table Tennis Club, has not only qualified for the English Schools' National Championships in the under-19 girls' singles – she will play at Tipton, near Birmingham on Saturday, April 25 – but she has also been called up by Yorkshire.
Myers, a quarter-finalist at the English National Under-18 Girls' Championship in Preston last November, will represent the white rose county on Saturday, March 7 at Halifax Table Tennis Centre.
Meanwhile, fellow Oakbank club member Isabella Crooks finished third in the under-11 girls' singles at the West Yorkshire Schools' Championship.
The nine-year-old Eldwick Primary School pupil was making her championship debut.
