LIZZIE Armitstead stormed into the race lead at the Women's Tour of Qatar with victory in the penultimate stage.
The Otley rider won the 93-kilometre third stage from Souq Waqif to Al Khor Corniche in a sprint finish from Shelley Olds (Bigla) and Lucinda Brand (RaboLiv).
Armitstead (British Boels-Dolmans) holds an eight-second lead over team-mate Ellen van Dijk ahead of the final stage, the 85km route from Sealine Beach Resort to Doha Corniche.
