BRADFORD boxer Hamed Ghaz is dreaming of becoming a world champion as he gears up for his second professional fight later this year.

The 18-year-old from Undercliffe won his first pro bout against Jason Nesbitt in November and is back in the ring at the Centenary Pavilion at Elland Road in Leeds on March 27.

The Bradford College student, who turned professional last June, is rated highly and regularly spars with Leeds fighter Adil Anwar at a gym in Burmantofts.

Ghaz, a light welterweight, said: “I turned professional in June last year when I turned 18.

“I had my first pro fight in November against a guy who was much more experienced than me in Jason Nesbitt.

“I fought him over six rounds and won every round – it was unanimous – and I’m looking forward to getting back in the ring now.

“I’ve been training with Adil in Leeds and he is fighting on the bill of my next fight at the Elland Road in March.

“I started boxing in December 2008 and, of my 34 amateur fights, I won 29 of them.

“Now I have turned professional my dream is to become a world champion. This second fight is the next step.”

Ghaz's opponent for his next fight has yet to be announced but tickets for the event can be bought by contacting the teenager direct on 07455 599995.
